Volunteer veteran, Nina Hesby, visited the community of Koyukuk, Alaska this year. Her time was spent with both the children and elders of this small community of 100 people.
Nina reports, " I had a wonderful, wonderful time! Everyone in Koyukuk was so excited to have me back. I had around 8-12 children everyday for Bible School. I did more there this year than I have any of my years up there."
During Nina's spare time in the community, she visited with the village elders. "The day I arrived, they had an "honor the elders" open dish that I was invited to. They announced that I was back teaching Bible school for my 7th year in Koyukuk, they all applauded!! So,many families came and thanked me for spending the week with their children. It was so rewarding and overwhelming. I've never had the turnout nor "thank you's" that I had this year."
We thank God that Nina was able to reach out to both the children and elders of this small community. We pray that the Holy Spirit will continue to increase the impact of God's Word and grow their faith throughout the year.
