2010 Summer Ministry Update

Just wanted to pass on what a blessing we experienced earlier this summer, serving for the Celebrate Creator Potlatch in Ketchikan & Saxman. It was hosted by a Native Home church group called Kee Ya Aa. This group wanted the village to experience how one can embrace their Native identity & worship the Creator as a Christian at the same time.

It began with 2 concerts featuring Cheryl Bear & Randy Barnetson & sons, as well as Dan Lundy & the Sacred Ground drummers. By Saturday, over 300 attended the Potlatch gathering, dinner & giveaway, most who do not attend church. We all experienced a Great Blessing & witnessed healing.

Next, we hosted Native Ministry leaders on board the boat from Arizona, Washington, Nenana & Oregon, finding ways to network and support each other.

Following the Potlatch, we hosted a Women's overnight on board for the Native ministry leaders to learn about how to drum for the Lord and local beading customs.
