Dance of the Trinity

Tell A Friend

Rev. Dave Sternbeck has been leading a small group in Port Angeles through a Bible study on the mystery of the Trinity. Native people often have a hard time understanding the concept of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Using the text from John 14:18, “I will ask the Father and he will give you another Counselor to be with you forever – the Spirit of truth,” Dave attempted to explain the Trinity through the Gospel. There was a term used in the early church “peri chorisis,” that helped bring greater understanding of the Trinity. This term means, “dance of the trinity” — a beautiful dance of unity between the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. The Native American people could understand this concept as Dave explained it in the round dance of the native culture.

“People were flabbergasted by the study. They had never seen this in Scripture before. I could see the work of the Holy Spirit creating faith in the lives of this small group through the Gospel,” Dave shared excitedly.
