A Farewell from the Borg's
Dear Partners in Ministry,
By now you have heard that Elvin and I are retiring from the M/V CHRISTIAN ministry at the end of this month.
We are writing to tell you that we have appreciated your support of Lutheran Association and its work, especially that of the boat. It’s been good to have you partner with us.
The ministry will continue with Pr. Stan Berntson and his wife, Sharon. They will be doing many of the things we have done and no doubt will explore different areas of service. They will make a great team on the boat. Here is a picture of the four of us taken on our last trip.
Sylvia, the girl on the right in the picture below, said, “I will miss you and Elvin and wish you weren’t retiring. But I am sure Stan and Sharon will be fun.”
I think Sylvia has it right. We have been doing rounds with Stan so he can learn the boat operation and the routes. So the children of Hydaburg, including Sylvia, got to meet him. So when the boat comes in to Hydaburg, and other communities, Stan will be a continuation and a reassurance, not someone unfamiliar to the children.
You can see that we will miss a lot of people – especially the children. It has been a rich 10 years for us. Again, we thank you.
