Despite the dropping temperatures, ministry onboard the M/V CHRISTIAN continues even into the winter months. Here are a few ministry stops along the southeast coast of Alaska that your gifts make possible.

We are in Hydaburg right now, and visited a 99 year
old elder today, and an 83 year old yesterday. Both received a gift of bread, a quilted blanket, and the Advent devotions. However, I think they most appreciated the conversation, prayers and communion that was offered. After school, kids who were on the boat last summer came down to see us. We shared a craft with them and an after school treat, and just let them talk about their lives. The boat is an arena in which they seem very comfortable.

We took this at sunrise this morning as we left Thorne
Bay, and wanted to share it with you. It's our new favorite example of God's beautiful creation.
It was a good weekend in the community. We gathered with folks on the boat for Saturday morning coffee, then led a morning communion worship for the first Sunday of Advent.
In the afternoon we were invited to go with others to cut down and bring in a Christmas tree for the school. On Monday, we visited with the Southeast Island School District office here. We may help coordinate a student leadership outing in May.
