“It took 500 years to find the freedom to express our faith through our culture” says David Sternbeck, ministry staff member and member of the team who gave glory to God through dance and drumming during the Opening Worship Service at the 2009 33rd Biennial LWML Convention in Portland, Oregon, June 25–28. Makah Lutheran Church, Neah Bay, Washington, was invited to participate in the opening service, praising God through their drumming and dance.

David Sternbeck, a member of the Nuu-chah-nulth Tribe, serving Makah Lutheran Church, also shared during Sunday Morning Worship. David will be the third Native American Pastor serving in the LCMS when he is ordained this October.
