A New School Year Begins at Jesus Our Savior

Tell A Friend

Our theme for 2010-2011 Jesus Our Savior Lutheran School year is “What a friend we have in Jesus our Savior!” Our key Bible verse picks up from last year’s theme of Jesus being the vine and we the branches and continues with:

“My command is this: Love each other as I have loved you. Greater love has no one than this, that he lay down his life for his friends.” (Saint John 15:12-13) One of the hymns that the children will be singing is: “What a friend we have in Jesus!”

Our school year began on Wednesday, August 25th. We have 13 students in our preschool, seven in the morning and six in the afternoon. We have five students in kindergarten, (three of our preschool graduates) plus one in 1st grade and another in 2nd grade.

During our opening chapel last Wednesday morning we installed our new preschool teacher/director, Mrs. Sheryl Tietz. Sheryl has filled in for Jana Ingelhart in the past and is a real blessing for our school along with Mrs. Connie Wobken our elementary and head teacher. (Our preschool teacher of 12 years, Jana, became Director of Public Relations for Orphan Grain Train in her hometown of Norfolk, Nebraska. This is a full time position and she cut down her travel time by over an hour one way).

Please keep our new teacher, Sheryl, our staff, and especially the children of Jesus our Savior Lutheran School in your prayers.
