The Winnebago Reservation in northeast Nebraska is home to about 1650 tribal members. It is here through Jesus Our Savior Lutheran Church that Rev. Ricky Jacob has been serving the Winnebago people since 1993. Pastor Jacob having learned the language and culture of the people, faithfully teaches the Gospel message in ways that are not offensive to the Winnebago people. As opportunities arise, he is able to share his faith and spiritual beliefs. His office is also a Christian resource center with books and videos for people of all ages. Pastor Jacob also writes a column for the local newspaper and hosts volunteer mission teams that come to the reservation to provide services of various kinds on the reservation.
Jesus Our Savior Lutheran Preschool has completed several years of reaching the children of the Winnebago Tribe with the saving message of the Gospel. Recently the Winnebago Tribal Council asked Jesus our Savior Lutheran Preschool to expand and begin a Lutheran elementary school on the reservation.
