A Special Opportunity

Visionaries

Tell A Friend

I share with you an exciting development in our ministry; Visionaries, an acclaimed public television series that has produced more than 160 documentaries all over the world, is profiling Lutheran Indian Ministries in a 30-minute documentary, scheduled for release this fall on PBS.

We are honored to have been chosen by this award winning series to highlight our ministry and mission of identifying, equipping and training Native American men and women, through the Lutheran Church, for ministry to their own people.

The documentary will focus on our ministry on-board the M/V CHRISTIAN in Southeast Alaska; Haskell LIGHT, our campus ministry at Haskell Indian Nations University in Lawrence, Kansas; and in my home community of Neah Bay, Washington, on the Makah Indian Reservation.

In it's seventeenth season, the Visionaries series is presented by WGBY in Springfield, Massachusetts and is distributed to public television stations across the country. The program is hosted by Oscar-nominated actor Sam Waterston.  Mr. Waterston donates his time and energy to the series because of his dual commitment to quality television programming and the philanthropic world.

We ask for your prayers as we begin this partnership with Visionaries, that schedules and travel will go according to plan and that this documentary will indeed be a blessing as we share our ministry with a broader audience.  If you would like to donate to join others who are making this program possible, please call our office at 888-783-5267.
